Building got easy.
Carrying it with you did not.

Any model will scaffold you a tool in minutes. None of them will hand you one that has already been run against a real case, and none of them will hand it back when you move to a different model next year.

Anyone can build it now. That's the problem.

A coding agent will scaffold a tool, wire up an automation, or draft an agent config before your coffee's done. That used to be the scarce skill. It isn't anymore. Building stopped being the bottleneck.

Two things are still scarce. Knowing it actually works, because someone already spent a weekend finding the edge case you haven't hit yet. And keeping it, because skills, harnesses, memory and protocols all shape what your AI can do and none of them travel. Change model and you start again.

A receipt is the part that travels. That is the gap Promptora sells into.

The unit

Built for your agent to call, not for you to read

A receipt is a capability your AI calls directly to produce a real output. Not a doc you read, adapt and debug yourself. Today receipts ship as MCP servers, because MCP is the format most AI tools already speak, and as downloads you run yourself. The format will change. What you bought does not.

01

Find it

Search by the problem, not the jargon. Filter by complexity and type.

02

Buy it

Downloads are hashed and verified on receipt. Hosted receipts are metered per call, so you only pay for what runs.

03

Call it

Point your agent at it. A download runs where you run it. A hosted receipt is already live, reachable through Promptora's gateway.

Not a directory

Isn't this the same as the free MCP directories?

No. Sites like Smithery, PulseMCP, mcp.so, and Glama index open-source MCP servers so you can find and install one for free. They don't handle payment, they don't verify that a listing actually runs, and nobody is accountable if it breaks. You still do the vetting yourself.

Promptora is a marketplace, not a directory. Every receipt is purchased, not just downloaded. Downloads are hash-verified against what was listed. Hosted receipts run through an authenticated gateway, never a raw endpoint. And every seller is an identified account with a payout on the line if what they shipped doesn't hold up.

What counts as "niche"?

If it's specific to your industry, your stack, or your team's exact way of doing things, generic AI tools won't get you there without hours of setup and debugging. These are the kinds of receipts you'll find on Promptora:

Legal intake triage

Routes new client emails to the right practice area and flags conflicts before a paralegal opens the inbox.

Niche POS-to-Shopify sync

Keeps inventory in lockstep between a regional point-of-sale system and an online store.

Supplier quote comparison

Collects quotes from suppliers and returns a comparison, without anyone chasing email threads.

Agent-ready product catalogue

Lets shopping agents browse and buy from a store that wasn't built for them.

Vendor invoice parsing

Turns a messy accounts-payable inbox into structured rows in your accounting software.

Support ticket triage agent

Classifies and routes tickets for a tool with its own quirky taxonomy that generic bots get wrong.

Why trust it

It either runs or it doesn't

Test it against your own case in minutes. A receipt is a working system, not a claim you take on trust.

Nothing is locked to a model

Receipts speak open protocols rather than one vendor's format. Switching models or apps doesn't break what you bought.

Every seller is accountable

Authenticated, named on the listing. If it breaks, that's their problem to fix, not silently yours.

Sale counts are public

A receipt with real buyers behind it is a much better bet than one nobody has tried yet.
